Overall rating for this product is awesome.
The AnyNet+ device support works well with my Samsung Home Theatre. Great picture quality and sound as well.
Biggest drawback! Samsung folks dont advice to connect a external HDD to the USB port. Only max 16GB pen drive can be connected it seem.
The Pai showroom service engineer sold this to me saying upto 1 TB HDD can be connected. obviously he played a pen drive and we liked the MKV file format.
When I connected my 250GB Transcend HDD, it didnt detect and I suspected maybe as it has 2 USB port support on the HDD. However when I connected my Seagate 500GB HDD, it detected and worked for about 10 mins after which the device got automatically disconnected and reconnected.
I raise a service request online which was promptly followed up by a service engineer by call. He told HDD connection is advisable!
Believe it or not! There was no point arguing with the engineer as he pointed to the paragraph online at website(https://samsung.com/in/consumer/tv-audio-video/television/lcd-tv/LA32C590H1RLXL/index.idx?pagetype=prd_detail)
Connect share Movie section "There’s no excuse anymore for leaving all those great digital pictures and videos in your cameras. All you need with the Samsung HDTV is USB connection cord. Just plug it in then instantly play.
It even works for your music collection. So now anytime is showtime."
Whereas a similar model(https://samsung.com/in/consumer/tv-audio-video/television/lcd-tv/LA32C550J1RLXL/index.idx?pagetype=prd_detail&returnurl=) says:-
With the Connect Share™ Movie capability, transform your LCD TV into a home entertainment theatre. Simply plug in your USB memory drive or HDD into the TV and instantaneously enjoy a range of movies, photos and music on your LCD TV. So instead of watching movies on your PC, you can download them onto a USB and watch them in the comfort of your living room on your LCD TV.
