"My old TV recently died on so we decided to finally upgrade to an HDTV. Headed down to Next and browsed the selections and immediately this TV stood out as one of the best-looking ones on display. We were looking for a TV between 50000 INR and 75000 INR so we were a bit hesitant on this purchase because it was considerably cheaper than most of the other TVs of the same size(and well below our target price range). In the end though, the image quality and size of this TV just kept bringing us back to it and the price seemed almost too good to be true for a 42".
The reason its cheaper is because its a 720p TV and for hardcore HDTV buffs that might be a turn off, but to be honest, for an average user, I couldnt tell the difference between the image quality of this TV and other 1080p TVs on display. So thinking, "if I cant tell the difference, theres no way my family will be able to tell the difference" so we ended up getting it.
It looks absolutely gorgeous in our drawing room. Its also got plenty of options to fiddle with the sharpness, contrast, colors and sound as well. Plenty of inputs with some conveniently located on the side. The downside is that it only has one composite port so youre gonna be outta luck if you have a lot of non-hd devices- just upgrade your cables to hd cables; dont degrade your TV to sub-quality signals. You also need to change the color settings a bit on the set as well seeing as how the factory defaults tend to make skin tones look unnaturally red. Once you fiddle with it a bit though, the image looks stunning- even standard definition signals and regular DVDs look extremely good on this TV.
Also, its a plasma TV so the risk of image burn-in is higher on this TV than an LCD, but the TV comes with several burn-in counter-measures and fixes so it shouldnt be an issue. I hear as long as you run the TV without burning it in for the first 100 hours or so of use, then the burn-in risk will be significantly reduced- like to that of an LCD TV. The image quality far outweighs the risk of burn-in though. Dont even worry about this insignificant issue.
The sound is pretty good for HDTV speakers. It cant beat a surround sound system, but they get the job done well enough.
This TV definitely has the absolute best bang for your back right now. Highly, highly recommended."
