I have benefitted greatly from reviews on mouthshut.com, so I thought I should do my bit to post a review. I bought a Samsung MW83H Solo microwave oven on December 19 2008. It was working fine for two months (until February 11 2009, to be precise), until one day my wife saw vigorous sparking inside while heating something.
There was no metal object inside. I called the service centre, and they sent a service engineer reasonably promptly. He said that the cavity (the place where you keep the food) is faulty, and the microwave had to be replaced. He gave me he telephone number of the service manager who would arrange the replacement. The service engineer came to take photographs of the oven (twice!), and I sent a copy of my proof of purchase, all before February 20 2009.
After that began a series of games and lies - they first told me that the replacement was awaiting approval, then that the model was "out of stock", then that the stock had arrived, then that they were awaiting billing. It is now 4 1/2 months since I placed the service complaint, and I have still not received a replacement. I have called up various people in their management, sent a legal notice, and done everything possible, but without any effect. Occasionally, I get a call from one of their management that "something will be done".
I am utterly disgusted with Samsung - my advice is DONT BUY SAMSUNG PRODUCTS. It is a dishonest, inefficient company, with absolutely no care for customer satisfaction.
