I had bought this TV in May 2005 and it was working fine till the warranty period of 1 year got over. But one fine day suddenly the TV stopped functioning. The service engineer came home after couple of days and told that a part worth Rs.750 has got damaged due to sudden spike in voltage. When I asked the engineer what was the inbuilt stabilizer doing then, he gave me the answer that it can handle very limited range of voltage spikes. I was really irritated to get to know about this fact. I could have been told about this fact upfront by the dealer last year when I bought the TV. Very bad product from Samsung.
And the heights is that barely after a week after this problem was solved now the Channel change buttons in the remote control are not working. Yet another irritation.....
One more thing. Whenever the power supply goes off during TV being in operation and when power comes back the TV should ideally stay in "Standby" mode, but to my utter dismay the TV gets switched on. This happens perfectly fine in my good old portable Onida TV but not in this much hyped Samsung Plano.
Pls think a lot before buying Samsung CTVs.
