Bad fridge and customer service

I bought this Samsung RA20F 195 Litres refrigerator in june 2006. It worked fine for less than 2 years and then it stopped cooling all of a sudden.


We called Samsung Customer Service which has jokers attending the call. They apologize for everything but don’t do any work. Perhaps that is how they are trained(the notorious call centers).


The technicians do not come so easily, we have to keep reminding them. There is one person who inspects it and we have to wait for the actual person who will have to reminded again and again.


This whole drama happened 3 times. The first time the filled up some gas(we had to shell out 800 Rs.), then it again broke within a weeks time. This time they replaced the compressor(thanks goodness, it was in the warranty). This ran for only 4 days and died again.  Again a technician came to fill the gas. Not surprisingly, this lasted for 2 days.


By this time we were totally helpless in the peak Hyderabad heat April-May time. All our food items were getting spoiled.  We called the technician, and they are yet to come. It is already 1 week.


Instead of fighting with these guys, I thought of buying a new one. This time I went for Whirlpool.


My Samsung fetched Rs. 600.


The sad part is everybody promises a lot during sales, but the customer service is pathetic.


When will these companies treat the customers properly.


I am just hoping the new one works fine.
