Cool..

I got the Samsung RA19FD 180 lts, single door refridgerator around 2 years back. I got it at Pai International store, Marthahalli, Bangalore. This clean-back (capacitors are inbuilt) fridges can be placed in the hall and adds to the decor of the living room. Before I got this fridge, people had said that fridges with inbuilt capacitors would get heated more than others with external capacitors. But after using the fridge for over 2 years now, I feel that it’s not true.

Being 5-star energy efficient, it consumes less than a unit of electricity at the 4th level of coldness per day (There are 5 levels in all, we mostly set it at 4). The fridge has an inbuilt deodorizer which is great in separating the flowers from the food items. The customer service of Samsung is also great - I poked my freezer compartment with a knife to remove some ice and so we had to repair it. It was a very bad mistake to make.

Cost me around Rs. 2K . The fridge has this specific warning "not to poke the ice in freezer with sharp objects". I failed to read this and paid the price. Apparently, a gas called Freon that is used for cooling leaks out through that hole and cooling of the fridge stops.

Samsung service center was prompt in coming and rectifying the problem. Their customer service call center guys are polite and take your requests seriously. This is just stating the obvious because Samsung does perform a good post-sales service. I’ve experienced this with Samsung washing machine as well.

Other than that, I’ve not faced any issues so far and I feel this is a great product.
