The model shown on the samsung website is 6150 and the review is about their latest unveiled SPR7000 , which is similar lookwise, but slightly enhanced in terms of its features.Surprisingly the website is yet to update details about this latest model.This is said to be the worlds lightest , slimmest cordless phone and it weights merely 90+ gms , WOW , can you believe it?Initially I thought it was a new mobile model from samsung misplaced in the cordless section .
The usual choice for cordless is panasonic , but this time I wanted to try something different and while browsing the electronics section , I happened to sight this new model and it was love at first sight and I never had decided on any product so instinctively, in a spur of moment.
It has all the usual features , its digital (DECT), 7 hours talk time with 70 hours standby , cLIP enabled , multi-language (8)support , intercom , missed call recording (useful if CLIP is enabled on our network), registering of many handsets to different/same bases , hot keys call settings, call barring , PIN features , phone book features (70 records), unique ring tome for specified numbers , memo record, call transfer , auto answering facitilty, and blah blah which is so common to all the cordless and many mobiles.
You can also record the telephonic conversation which is stored as a message, this feature can be quite useful.
Coming to the drawbacks:
This is a flip open kind and hence it may be inconvenient sometime especially if there are kids in house .
Since it is very compact like Nokia8250 , it can be very difficult to dial numbers when it is used by everyone in home , especially elders.
The model when installed in India needs a minor replacement of line cord provided along with the standard kit , and its quite cheaply available, so not a major problem.
Else its a seductive beauty .You have optional accessories like additional handset which can registered as additional handset to the same base and microphone.
This comes in 3 colours like black and metallic silver and champagne gold , but I chose the metallic silver.It costs just $90 around 4.5K in US .
