The Samsung 152s is a basic 15 inch TFT LCD monitor. Has no speakers, just buttons on the front panel to tweak settings. Very simple to set up, picture is bright and sharp,
response time is good and it looks great.
There are some very good deals going on this monitor - it can be had for as little as 15, 000 rupees ($333), which is a little more than a really good 17 inch CRT, which is the equivalent CRT size when comparing the 152s. Of course there is no competition when one considers desk space and footprint between the 152s and CRT monitors. For all work related applications -- word processing, spreadsheets, browsing -- the 152s works great. Its struggles a little when it comes to playing DVD\ movies.
Regular CRT monitors or TVs render picture with vibrant colors and smoothness that the 152s cant quite match. I havent tried the 152s for gaming but Ive read good things on the Net about the its performance in that area.
Gripes: The stand could be a little better. its pretty basic - lets you adjust height by about 3 inches and tilt. There is a version of the 152 that has a fixed stand for a negligible difference in price.
All in all, for a good price this is a steal. Ive seen Umax TFT LCDs for the same price and the Samsung is ahead by miles in quality of picture and fit and finish.
