The Samsung SyncMaster 713N is a fast response TFT LCD Panel. It has a response time of 8sec compared to 16sec of 710N.
I purchased the panel some 3 months ago from Lamington Road. Since there was lack of reviews on the available brands and models I decided to go Samsung as have had a pretty good experience with Samsung. My earlier monitor the Samtron 55E lasted almost 6 years with a few problems but still worth it.
The 713N set back by pocket by about Rs.14200. The picture produced is bright and clean. If you are going to play games then I would’nt recommend this one for that matter no serious gamer should yet look for LCD monitors. Nothin beats the CRTs when it comes to displaying fast changing images.
There is a AutoAdjust feature which can automatically adjust the screen size to fit the image completely within the viewable area.
Have watched lots of movies on this panel. Quality of picture reproduced on screen is quite good but not as vibrant as a CRT, but still acceptable against the natural advantage of a smaller footprint.
Lately have been seeing a constant wavelike motion on the screen. Need to check with Samsung about the issue.
A word of caution for users working with LINUX please donot buy this. LINUX just doesnt work, even booting with a live CD fails.
