P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNorma..This has to be the poorest purchase decision I’ve ever made (and I’ve made some poor ones before). The camera is just not up to today’s standards. In fact I have a sony handycam, bought in 1995, that records on V8 which gives me a much better all round performance.
P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal. There are three specific problems that I’ve discovered so far, I’m too pissed off to look for more, that have really taken the joy out of owning this camera.
P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal.
Poor Video Quality: When compared to a Sony camera of similar specs the Samsung has appalling video quality. Especially if the object in front of camera is moving. A black and white jaggy appears at the edges of the moving object. I went to the Samsung service center and was told that it is a problem with my computer (I use two- an Apple and a Dell) and with the resolution on my TV. I was told to watch the image on the camera LCD display. So basically they told me that this is the image quality and I had to live with it.
Low Light shooting: gives off terrible images. It’s almost like shooting with an old mobile phone.
Bad to very bad focus: The focus is slow slow slow! Even in daylight (shadows) the focus keeps changing searching for focus. A person, in close up, talking into camera keeps going in and out of focus. The service center told me that this happens because the camera keeps searching for the right focus. WTF! On a static closeup what is there to search.
P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal.I hope the company is listening to these complaints. While their Service center is nice and polite and even willing to spend time on the issue they simply can’t fix something that is an engineering dud.
