Impressive Display with a good Music Player.

Price- 7568/- at Mobile Store

Date of Purchase- 21/4/11

Model- Samsung Wave- GT-S5253

After a lot of market research, I found, Wave 525 a good phone in its price range. The very first thing, which impressed me was its display. The built is also good. Comes in black and white body shell. I went for the white one as it gives a distinctive look.

Now, after almost a month of use, I chose to write a review about this phone. I almost used every features and feel to give feedback about its performance.

Price wise, it’s a good value of money. No other phone comes with this much features in this price range. I’ve checked so many other brands & models but this one looked great at this price.

Basic Features:

BADA OS, Quad Band, WiFi, TFT 240*400 resolution, 3.2 Mp Camera, GPS with aGPS, Dolphin Browser  with low flash support.

Features Lacks:

3G support, Video support for higher than 320*240 resolution

Product Review:

Though a good phone at its price range, it still gives some hiccups while use. The most annoying one is auto off when you overload its RAM. If multi applications are running together, it instead of hanging restarts and offload its memory.

Bada OS is impressive and its touch interface is quite good. Very easy to use and menus are simple.

Display is very impressive. It’s a TFT screen with 240400 resolution. Video only supports upto 320240  resolution.

Camera is of standard quality with features found on almost every Samsung phone camera. Camera comes with geo-tagging facility but the gps takes ages to connect that you would rather don’t want to use it.

Connectivity wise its good if use WiFi but Edge is too slow. I think, it a network thing because at night sometimes, on Edge also it gives smooth net surfing. You Tube is impossible on network. It’s smooth only on WiFi. Better to use Opera Mini 6 for browsing if to use only network connectivity.

The very impressive feature is its music player. It comes with 5.1 channel support and hears so good on earphones. Speaker output is rather downgraded. Ringtones sound ok on speaker but not impressive.

There are not so many pre installed Bada applications other than dictionary but can be downloaded via Samsung Apps store. Themes can be changed but the only thing which annoys is not possible to change the menu’s dull blue background color. There are many sites which provide free stuffs to load for Wave such as wallpapers, themes, widgets and games. Pre-loaded games are there but only trials and can be purchased for 50/- Rs. each.

The last thing is about its battery backup. As, it has a big display with good brightness, battery drains quickly. I think, the standard battery is not enough for full use. If the display is on for a while the battery goes almost empty at the end of the day. Music can be listened for long as the display gets off while using music player.

One important thing to say about this product that the SIM slot is under the hood so, never ever put anything wrong inside the slot as, it’s impossible to remove it without fully opening the case.
