This romantic story is director Divya Khosla Kumars follow-up to Yaariyan(2014). Title trackSanam Re features theAashiqui 2 combo of Mithoon as composer and lyricist and Arijit Singh as singer — additional vocals by Anirudh Bhola and is picturised as romantically as it is sung, in ethereal locations. Gazab Ka Hai Din has the same title as the Juhi-Aamir number from Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak but sounds entirely different. Melodious it is, but in a different vein. Composed by Amaal Mallik and sung by Arijit again, it has Manoj Muntashirs breezy lyrics and the freshness of young love.
Amaals second track Hua Hain Aaj Pehli Baar has a simple hook and has him behind the mike with Palak Muchhal and Armaan Malik. Its reminiscent of love songs from the 80s.Humne Pee Rakhi Hai is a party number from Epic Bhangra with the requisite nonsensical lyrics by Ikka and Kumaar. The voices of Jaz Dhami and Neha Kakkar lend spunk.Kya Tujhe Ab Ye Dil Bataye speeds up during the chorus. Amaals arrangement and Muntashirs lyrics lift it up. Singer Falak Shabbir lends it the weight it needs.Tere Liye has Mithoon on the lyrics and composition, with Ankit Tiwari rendering it some soulfulness.
Theres a recreation of the 2001gaanaTum Bin Jiya Jaye Kaise by Chitra, covered asTum Bin in the voice of Shreya Ghoshal and composed by Jeet Gannguli who has kept things much slow to good effect.Chote Chote Tamashe harks back to the feel-good 60s decade of Bollywood music with Jeet as composer and Shaan behind the mike.
