Well well....wat can I say about this place.....firstly its a wonderfull place, I have an awesome experience about this place.
Let me start...the trip was with all my frnds(12 people) wen we were in 3rd sem engi, we hired a TT and started our journey in the morning by 8(actually it had to start by 6 but u know the delay that happens before gathering all the people), anyway our first destination was chunchi falls, its a good picnic spot where you can put your foot under flowing water and sit on the rock(feels grt) as soon as we saw the water we couldnt control ourself we went inside and started to play, we spent our half day playing in water.
There is a deep falls which has a stream of water flowing through 2 thick rock called the chunchi falls. Our next destination was sangam, its called SANGAM because 3 rivers join at a place its a good place because of the greenary, flowing water, rocky mountains, and the mild sound of birds.
Once you reach there you will find a place to park your vehicle, we did the same and jumped into water again, since it was a guys trip we all dared to go deeper into the flowing water, it was in the month of november and the water flow was pretty fast and high, as we were proceeding furthur the stream of water started to take us with it we couldnt control ourself some of them started to swim against the water, but of no use it started to take us with it LOL, luckily one of my frnd got hold of a stone near by and streched his arms to reach others, totally 6 people some how caught him and eveybody were so scared that we thought we would never come out of water the time was also running and it was almost 4clock, then we all decided to hold each others hand and go towards the water in a diagnol fashion and get out, there are stones spread all over inside the water we got hurt and some how came out of it.
Later at around 5clock we decided to go to mekedathu walking, we started laughing and cracking jokes remembering wat had happend to us, the name MEKEDATHU states that long back a tiger was chasing a goat and the fearing its life was running and it jumped the valley which of more that 20 feet, frm that time the name was given as mekedathu.
When you walk along the water from sangam to mekedathu its really awesom you can sit enjoy view the water, listen to the sweet sound of flowing water and the thick forest you are walking into. After taking some good memorable photographs we came back and drove our way to bangalore. Conclusion: 3 places(Chunchi, sangam and mekedathu) these are awesom place for a one day trip from bangalore, take your own food, be very carefull while playing in water, dont go deep into the flowing water because you never know how fast is the current of water flowing.go in groups so that you will safe. Roads to these places are good(kanakpura road).
