The one thing that always pisses me when I visit a store is when I spot a dissatisfied employee. These are the people who are just not happy with their work they are into, & passion is something which is not in their dictionaries. The result of meeting such ppl is the worst customer experience & you end up being on the recieving end!
This is exactly what happened to me when I visited one of the Sangeetha Mobile stores in Banshakari 2nd Stage, Bangalore.
After lot of waitin, I was finally all set to lay my hands on a touch-screen phone & I had set my mind to buy a Nokia 5800.
I spotted a Ad in the local newspaper of an offer by Sangeetha which said, sinhenneiser headset, reebok slingbag and 5% cashback.
One of their store near BSK BDA complex, 2nd stage being nearby, I headed to there to grab one in my hands.
What I faced with in the next 20 minutes was horrific customer experience.I entered the store which was warmer by atleast 10 degrees than outside, due to turned off ACs & there was very poor lighting inside.
I could spot one customer & 5 sales guys and one guy who looked like a store manager.
I started enquiring about diff models of touchscreen of diff companies, the answers for which was always provided after the guy was repeating the same questions to his store manager at the top of his voice & jus replied back wht the manager said, which I too could hear before he passed the message me on!
Two more questions & He just didnt seem to have any knowldge on touch screen phones! and I decided to find my answers with another sales guy who looked confident, but Alas!, he too followed suit & just was giving his own specs than what the phone could support(Out of the Box thinkin, heh!?)
After hearing my conversation, the store manager and the other guy ganged towards me & started or tried to help me, but NO, they too desperately failed.I finally decided to just buy what I have already researched enough on, the Nokia 5800 and asked them abt offers. They seemed to find out if I knew anything abt the offers at all!.they just waited, n whn I queried abt the headset, they then said yes, they do provide it and also the bag!. I said ok and asked abt 5% cashback, for which they said the final price quoted was after 5%(which I didnt feel like). I said I am paying by card. The store manager said 1% charges and then another guy rushes in and teaches the manger that, there are no charges!?, "what the heck"?, I thought. But still, I said to go ahead and was ready to make the payment. But just then, the power was gone and the manager started writin out a bill for me.I saw the guy placing the seal opened box containin the phone and a headset in front of me. The manager asked me for my card, he wanted to swipe as the bill was ready. I was just about to hand it over, but .I asked, what about the bag?, for which he now says, out of stock and tells me to collect it tomorrow in the evening. Look at their honesty, huh!. I said no way!, and I simply walked out.
Half baked knowledge on phones by the store sales-guys, very shabby & not so ambient store, crowded only by sales guys, trying to cheat customers on offers, trying to cheat customers on credit card charges, trying to cheat on the goods sold. This is what you get at Sangeethas, BSK 2nd stage store.(Not really sure about other Sangeetha stores, Bangalore.). A clear example for "employee represents a company and its image" and sorry to say Sangeethas image was tarnished by this specific store.
