It was my stupidity to choose this travels to go from Bangalore to Chennai last weekend. While the staff at the boarding point(Near Total Mall) were polite and helpful, The driver wasn’t.
The traffic was jam packed in Bangalore that day and the bus which started at Total Mall, Koramangala around 4 PM was in Electronic City at around 6 PM! The driver stopped for about 10 mins near the first toll booth at Krishnagiri for the passengers to use the rest room at the toll booth. And that was the last courteous gesture I saw from this man.
Both my wife and I were starving and we thought we would not be able to travel that long without food(the bus was scheduled to reach chennai at around 11). I went to him and asked as politely as I could if he would stop somewhere for food. OMG! I ticked him off! "I am not stopping anywhere. I cannot listen to anybody and everybody’s suggestions. I am going straight to chennai. If you are feeling hungry, I can’t help it" His words sounded more arrogant in Tamil.
Another gentleman who was with me was also pleading him to stop for food. He was politely explaining him that he and his wife are both senior citizens and they cannot travel for this long a time starving. But Mr.Arrogant would not listen. He spat the same venom on the senior citizen. The old man was completely hurt and went back to his seat quietly.
I called up sangita travels and spoke to one Balaji and told him about the driver’s behavior. Balaji spoke to the driver to convince him but to no avail. He later told me that he can’t do anything about it but I can try’requesting’ the driver again. I went up to Mr.Arrogant and told him I am going to write everywhere on the internet about my experience and his uncivilized behavior. Promptly came the reply "Dont say it, DO it"!
It was a totally frustating experience with Sangita Travels precisely because of this Moron. I could not get his name or I would be more than happy to publish it here.
My frustation is more because of this nincompoop’s uncouth behavior and the disrespect meted out to me(inspite of being polite), than because I could not make him stop for food. In this day and age of customer service, some people somehow keep taking customers for granted. They MISBEHAVE with customers, let alone being courteous and friendly!
There are dime a dozen options to go to chennai from Bangalore. Please dont choose Sangita Travels for pete’s sake!, for you might find Mr.Arrogant driving you crazy!
