Well lets get things straight and simple these Indian directors no longer can make good serials.What they are probably good at is making family dramas and serials b’coz they have to put no brains in making them.There were times when we had serials like Indradhanush, Lifeline, Discovery of India and lots more which were not only great but also gave us a message.But now things have completely changed and become too commercialised and its here the effect is lost.
I had been eagerly waiting for the serial Sanjeevni(A medical boon-Ha!)from the time the promos hit the channels b’coz it looked something different and fresh and also since I am going to appear for my medicals soon I was excited to watch the serial to see how things went for the young doctors but what a dissapointment it turned out to be.I know it is too early to judge a serial which is four episodes old but as it is said the first impression is the last, this serial has left no impact on me whatsoever and it neither has the capacity to do so.Saanjeevni is supposed to be a serial revolving around the doctors and the trials and problems that the doctors have to face in fighting against disease and death but I have yet to understand what the director actually wants to show?There seems to be no story and everything goes about in such a haphazard and confusing way, the dialogues are poor and leave no impact, the characters have not been properly sketched out and it looks as if nobody knows what they are supposed to do, moreover the acting is so artificial that you neither feel for the patient nor the doctors.The four young doctors who have joined the hospital as interns look and act as if they are modelling or campaining for some ad.And where on earth is a hospital like the one shown in the serial(Watch the serial once and u will know what I mean, infact when I become a doctor i’ll pray to god to put me in such a hospital if it exists).Its really disappointing to see that all the emphasis is on glamour and stuff.Why don’t these people have the confidence to potray things and people in a simple way?It would have been better if they’ld have attempted to make the serial in a way that it gave some kind of message to the young upcoming doctors.
Saanjeevni fails to impress and doesn’t keep you involved at all coz the honesty and conviction with which the serial should have been made is missing.Dissapointing!
