Sanjivni – a medical Boon .What a laugh .India’s very own version of ‘ Chicago Hope’ and ‘ ER’ is what I wld call ‘ Heartbreak High’ .What started off as a good, unique concept caught the Ektaa Kapoor flu somewhere along the line the only diff being the ‘K ‘ factor in the same.
So here is a short backdrop for all the lucky few who haven’t been part of the serial for the year it has bin around. It is set In a hospital called Sanjivini which is basically the life story of 4 Interns- Rahul and Simran who are childhood buddies and small town ‘ Mr n Miss goody two shoes’ Umi and Juhi. Rahul falls headlong for Juhi but it is Simran who is holding the Torch or in this case shd I say” Stethoscope “to Rahul’s heart..Rahul is forced to marry the spoilt Rich Simran as he is threatened that Juhi’s doc dreams wld be cut off by Simrans’ dad the hospital trustee – Mr. chopra. So in true ‘ sanam Bewafa’ Style Rahul gives up his love only to be hated by Juhi who doesn’t who the true story.
Throw in a Dr. Shasank and his estrangled wife Dr. Smriti that is sanjivni.
Well Pray is that what sanjivni and hospitals are for? I thought after the heavy ‘ Over doses’ of saccharine sweet bahus and broken hearted son n daughters , the hospital shd provide the right ‘ rehabilitation’ of sense and sensibility . But I am sadly let down . So I think it is a tough fight on between the Indian cricket team and the serial as to who shd lure the viewers away . and with the exam season ard the corner I think The parents will only be too grateful?What Say MS???????????????????
