Sanju reminds us of the fact that biographical movies need not be about great people! Using the reference to this movie, director Rajkumar Hirani forbids us to indulge in whatever wrong Sanjay Dutt had done earlier in his life. The greatest lesson he gives us is that: we should turn our weaknesses and our failures into our strengths and Sanju is one of the prime examples of it. Now, coming to the movie, Sanju is actually fantastic! It is rather nostalgic! Its not that I am a devotee of Sanjay Dutt, but this movie had a loop of emotions: love, hatred, anger, and the most important: passion. Now coming to the acting performances, Ranbir Kapoor is the star of the movie. Momentarily, you forget that he is actually Ranbir Kapoor! He immerses into the character extremely well. Personally, I feel this is his best work till date, even better than Barfi! The supporting cast is tremendously good! Vicky Kaushal, Manisha Koirala, Paresh Rawal, Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Jim Sarbh, Boman Irani were all fantastic, lets say pitch - perfect! The songs were good, but the one that stands out is Kar Har Maidan Fateh! Goosebumps! Strongly recommend after the Race 3 debacle. My rating: 4.5 out of 5.
