Sankaraabharanam is the name of raagam, It means "Ornament of God".Many people say, they are lifted to great heights when they listen to Sankaraabharanam.Not only for many of us like this raaga, Lord siva is also pleased with this on.
The movie is about Shankara Shastri who is a great Indian classic musician. He believes that India classical music is one of the greatest ways to achieve Moksham. This character introduces with a song describing the greatness of the raagam, Sankaraabharanam, from then Viswanath takes you through the life of shankara shastri which is very heart touching. There is a saying that "Intelligence is about making a complex thing simpler" and Viswanath is a living example for that. He has presented the movie with such a difficult concept - in these days people doesn’t know the Sankaraabharanam is a name of raagam - in a very simle manner so that any one can understand. This can be possible only when he has really good understanding of the subject and he exactly knows what he wants.
Some simple examples for this are scenes like "when music teacher singing the song ’brochevaarevarura’ wrongly shankara shastri corrects it". In that scene the way Music teacher behaves and shankara shastri behaves describes the difference of modern music and the classical music. In one of his interviews he mentioned that he has written only 24 pages of dialogs. This line can also be understood like, not only the raaga Sankaraabharanam is raaga ratna maalika even the movie shankarabharanm is the same. Veturi has given his best for this movie.
