Affordable AC & easy pocket friendly..!

Hi every one,

I bought this Sansui 1.5 Ton 5star split AC from Online at very budget price.

About the AC now. No frills AC, even the packing was functional. Contains Copper pipes(3.5m X 2 nos) with insulated clading, Interconnecting Power Cable(fell short by 2 feet or so), Drain Pipe(5 feet approx), Manual, Remote, Batteries, screws, mounting plate for indoor unit. Again cost optimised. Basic, yet functional. Please store the cartons to have chances to avail online store 30 Day Replacement Warranty, if needed. AC seems to cool pretty well and even without the auto horizontal swing, cools a top floor room 12’X10’ within 15 mins to comfortable levels. Will have to check on power consumption later though. Remote is with minimum buttons and feels large in hand(has backlit display). Outdoor unit seems more noisy than what the specs say. Probably the indoor unit too. It has Aluminium Condensor coils which is a big risk(especially in saline enviTestingronyents, coastal installations). Look is pretty average. Display on the AC is only functional but large enough. While installing(to pre-plan accordingly) note that to have maximum tube and cables’ length, take the tubes and cables out from the right side of the indoor unit(though possible from left side too).

I got taken for a ride with the installation cost(Electrical). 39 Feet 2.5 sq. mm(sufficient for 1.5T AC) Finolex(conceal lay) Copper wire with earthing wire, 16A North West(Wipro) Single Phase Motor Starter(C12M01 H), North West Plug Tops, North West Plug Sockets, North West Modular Bases, 6 feet casing to draw electrical line from main switch at 7 m distance: Total material cost Rs. 1700. These guys charged me Rs. 1500 for the job(Total Rs. 3200)! Daylight robbery. Use JustDial, you could save a thousand bucks on this.

For the Mechanical Installation, paid Rs. 3000:

a) Basic Installation: Rs. 1400

b) Outdoor Unit Stand: Rs. 750

c) Wrapping Tape for copper pipes: Rs. 500(in my view, not needed, supplied insulations are enough)

d) Extra Drain Pipe @ Rs.40/ feet: Rs. 320(avoid buying from them, get one yourself at less than half the cost)

e) White Cement 1 kg(for Finish938844ing wall hole on the outside): Rs. 30

I could have saved Rs. 800+ if I was not in dire hurry, but they did a good job, so that is Okay.

Overall, if you want to play safe, avoid this AC. If like me though, you want to take a bit of risk for the 10000 bucks less you aishwaryasingh23 for your AC, I will recommend it(5Star, 1.5T, EER 3.51).
