Sanya Malhotra: She made her debut with blockbuster movie Dangal in 2016. She portrayed the character of a wrestler. Sanya had just a two-minute wrestling scene in the film yet she learnt all the tricks of wrestling.
She said in an interview, “I was not thinking in that direction at all. I had my character, Babita, in mind and she was a wrestler. So to play her on-screen, I had to first look like a wrestler—the way they walk, stand on the mat, eat and behave.”
Instead of success of Dangal she got her next movie after approximately One and half year. Movie was Pataakha. She played the character of village girl.She is a revelation here. She completely got into the skin of the desi character she was playing. From the mannerisms and dialogue delivery, to the faces she made, it was all spot on.
Critics appreciated her for her performance, "Sanya outshines Radhika. The Dangal star appears more emotionally involved in scenes. You feel her anger, get involved with her pain and get excited with her."
