Ropeway, Camel ride, Boating and Museum of Tribals are few to remember memories of Saputara. Saputara Hill Station is on the boundaries of Maharashtra & Gujrat and hails in Gujrat. From Nasik it is approx 80 Km drive. You need to cross the Maharashtra state border and enter the marvelous state Gujrat.
It is perfect destination for one day outing but you will be tempted to stay more. Hotels are plenty. GTDC, Gujrat Tourist Development Corporation, too offers boarding facilities. Weather is always good.
Ropeway: Have you ever been in ropeway? Do you remember Akshaye Kumar making stunts in Red & White promo? Saputara Ropeway is ideal exposure to you, your family members and kids. Very reasonably priced at rupees 40 only per trip per person. The cab can accommodate 4 adults. You can shout full throttle or drop few coins from 1000 meter height to see few youths catch coins. It is fun to see other cars passing in the sky.
Camel ride: Giveyour back few jerks and try to feed camel with your own hands. Alike kids, elders can enjoy this roller - coaster ride.
Museum: Saputara is abode of serpents. It has strings attached to Lord Shiva & stories from Ramayana. If you are the one, who is really fascinated with history of Tribals, Saputara museum is a must visit for you. Museum is very well maintained by the authorities. The museum showcases - evolution of mankind, Tribals of Dang, things of tribal kitchen, weaponry of Tribals, tribal ornaments, dholkis, sarangis, pictures and what not. I wish few murtis should find place in Madame Tussade museum. Entry fee is Rs. 2 only.
Aquarium: Nearly 50 varities of fishes will be mesmerising experience, no matter you are vegetarian. Few species are imported one. Entry fee is Rs. 5 only, well that is how they maintain the habitat.
Let us take a break: If you have carried your Tiffin or otherwise also, let us take a break and eat something to prepare for next exercise pedal boating. Restaurants too are plenty. Try visiting Bhel, Panipuri, Shev, Dahiwada stalls and also give a taste to lemon-water. You can try boiled bhutta i.e. boiled corn a road-side speciality.
Boating: Cool, clean Saputara Lake is everyones attraction. You can hire sailboats, paddleboats and rowing boats and lake is all yours. Boats are named as Ganga, Kaveri etc and boating is fun. You can feed ducks or enjoy racing other boats.
I think we already had enough fun. Sun is tilted and before you end up in traffic jams of your respective cities...this is time to say pack up. Saputara is also approachable from Mumbai, Surat and other cities. If you can speak Gujarati, that is fine. Hindi is understood by everyone. Well if you are a foreigner tourist visiting Saputara, our food stall vendors will make sure to chat in Hinglish and Ginglish....dont worry be happy.
Hope your trip to Serene Saputara will be equally refreshing. And surely you will find too many places to walk and talk to nature God.
