Yes! It is a class apart. It may not have a big fan following but I haven’t seen or heard anyone saying it is bad or lacks quality.
It still stands out the best even till today, the reason is simple - a realistic story interwoven by comedy played by typical characters(read: iconic) with whom we can all associate.
Nowadays the comedy in Hindi channels has become very painful to watch, not to forget the constant product placement in the daily soap operas. Infact now when I look back I observe that this sitcom back then was very ingenious because they made Monisha’s(character) to be an addict of these typical hindi TV soap operas and her husband Sahil(character) every time points out to her the degree of ridiculousness of these daily serials she so much admires. Most of the times he says in hindi "stop this nonsense and get back to reality"(Yeh sab bakwaas bandh karo! aur hosh mein aaoo monisha)
I watched this when I was a kid and my mom thought I was watching some Hindi TV serial. My sister and I showed it to her once and even she became a admirer of this Sitcom after which she never stopped us from watching this. Many such happy memories associated with this sitcom. I still watch it on YouTube and try to revive those childhood memories. Finally, I can’t help it but to shout: "I want a reunion of this please!"
