My feelings and anguish echoes through many of the reviews here . I compromised my comfy sunday evening on this much-touted but absolute mis-adventure flick. Its a torture for anyone to see this, Id say - a waste of efforts on both the makers and the viewers. Dont think the RGV label is going to attract me anymore. Still I consider myself fortunate enough, coz most of his earlier flicks which I had seen were over the small screen at my home!
The most irritating and irking thing I noted was the mindless camera-works. The weird angles taken got me a real headache so much that even on thinking about those scenes, I could get one again. The violence scenes are shot like they are convincing through the cameras eye-piece. The camera person must have forgotten that it would be projected on a larger screen, where the movements get amplified a lot. The home videos done by my 9-yr old daughter are much better-shot and feels pleasing to the person watching them on TV.
There is no gripping element in the movie. RGV has saved on the fees to the Music Director too ! No noteworty piece of soundtrack.... the govindaa-govindaa theme continues like a heartbeat till it becomes unbearable (wont call it Background music- it always in the foreground).
Tanisha who had a couple of shots in the flick appears more promising and realistic, (as mentioned in the hilarious review by FlyingElephant) than Ash who got more screeen time.
She has potential if given better roles from good directors. Talent wasted here! Her earlier work in Sarkar was also appreciating. Mind you, her Neal-n-Nikki role was demanding the way she did that role.
Abhishek seems to be stuck in the GURU mould. I felt more than coupla times that Im watching Guru. He hasnt come out of that past character yet, how would he put life to this one ?
Bacchan Sr. was the only relief, due to his dialogue delivery. But screenplay of his scenes was marred by an overdose of extreme tight-closeup shots. With the story going nowhere, the film was like a stretched worn-out elastic. Poor dialogues, lighting, Acoustics (75% of the film is in whispers), poor music, acting, .... couldnt expect such spoilt product from RGVs Factory.
This movie makes me to swear that I would never never never never go to a cinema hall without reading MouthShut !!!!!
PS : This is my personal opinion and I dont want to disagree with any reviewer who feels otherwise. This is in no way intended to harm the RGV tag or their future productions. I wish they come out with better things next time.
