RGV does it again .. this time differently

Those who have seen The Godfather several times like me will be disappointed and in their minds - while watching the movie - might not so much like Bachchan or his baby, nevertheless the movie scores.

Sarkar still scores :

I am 19 and I did not in my lifetime saw any art-film where there’s communication via the eyes. This movie really is serious cinema in this regard : the background score, the eyes of the two Bachchan’s just propel the movie forward ..... all the characters speak only a few words ....

The movie (plot not revealed)

Bachchan is a Mafia Godfather in Mumbai who like New York’s Don Vito Corleone aka The Godfather has supposedly had a chequered past. Like the godfather, Sarkar (Subhash Nagre aka Bachchan) is a man who refuses to acknowledge any authority other than his own; he is a man of reason; a just man, an ultra-sensitive man, a wise man, who in today’s times is the one man who ’has the balls’ unlike any politician, police officer, beaurocrat, etc. ’who are not sicilians’ (brave, brutal and cunning ) - but simple mortal men.

RGV does not fail to convince the viewer this when Abhishek aka shankar tells his grlfren tumhaare papa system ke andar rehke apne fayde ka kaam karte hai aur mere papa system ke bahar rahke logo ke faayde ka kaam karte hai. The family of Sarkar is a mafia family much like that of the Godfather; ofcourse the women wear saris and only work in the kitchen only sometimes participating in the discussions.

The movie will not disappoint you because it has power packed performances by Bachchan, his baby and K.K. It will not disappoint you because this movie is also an eye-opener to those who blindly believe in the system, who think that the country should be governed by ’ideal laws’ ; (that if a man kills another man, he shud simply be hanged etc.). And because it is a sneak-peek into the interconnecting world of a Godfather (whose influience reaches every nook and corner of society ), the general public, the state Govt.

Sarkar’s defficiencies in the light of the movie, The Godfather :

Bachchan is not Brando, nor is Abhishek Al Pacino. The background score of Sarkar appears somewhat superficial when compared to that of The Godfather, former having been inspired by that of The Godfather and similarly does the whole movie Sarkar. So its best not to compare the two movies.
