Sarkar the new govt.

The title is intriguing. I explain it thus. The film acknowledges it is inspired by Godfather what it does not is the similarity of the protagonist with our Mumbai Tiger. The similarities are there for all to see and the discrepancy with the classic is jarring for those who have already seen Godfather. Also, the concept of such a person almost demi god is a bit difficult to understand for us. The film earns its paisa vassool in the acting of the Big B and his son the small B. While these two tower over the rest of the cast there are several good performances. In general it can be safely said that acting and editing wise the film is top notch. The film revolves around Amitabh Bachchan as a Mafia don who is also a big time Robin Hood. He deals with a iron fist justice and is an institution falling outside the ambit of law. He is a revered figure and icon of masses. He has two sons. The elder one in departure from Godfather is maverick and a womaniser. He also is resentful of his pop and towards the end meets his end while trying to ..... The younger one is Abhishek, a good son who is America return and unsullied by the business of mayhem. He learns quickly and when going gets tough he gets even tougher. There are the trademark gimmicks of RGV which brings out the reach of Sarkar. Katrina is there in a blink and miss role. For added formula there is a Swami villain and his disciple. There is a chief minister and he is the.... There is also a plot and a shoot out involving Sarkar. The story is fast paced and the noticeable absence of long drawn out songs make this film a watchable film. The soundtrack too is inspired by Godfather and it is a let down and can be monotonous after a time. It does not have the raw quality of Satya or even company. The scenes direction too lack that extra zing that RGV is known for. So, conclude by recommending as a watch it once if havent seen the original Godfather just for the Big and smaller B.
