Saarvi Restaurant-Bombay Central

This review is only for the limited edition people who eat beef.others can just avoid reading. Saarvi restaurant located at Nagpada junction-Bombay Central is perhaps one of the very old restaurants still surviving. The main attraction and the item for which it is famous is seekh kebabs and parathas. The seekh kebabs and parathas which are actually prepared on the footpath adjacent to the restaurant are just delicious(soft and yummy), especially since they are served sizzling hot alongwith the chatni and onions.

The joint is a must visit for all seekh kebab fans who eat beef.you may forget the verey famous Bacchubhai waadi located just 1/2 a km away. The restaurant also houses an a/c section on the first floor which I have not visited till date.reason being I prefer my seekh kebabs just floating in right from the skewers onto my table. The a/c section on the first floor is supposed to be for families and many of my friends alongwith family go there quite often.but I personally have not seen it . Another plus point is the pricing is very cheap(a/c prices may vary but not to a great extent).

Three to four plates of seekh(the portions are also quite good) and two three parathas washed down by a couple of cold drinks by two people would set you back by approximately Rs.200/- only-. The actual old restaurant on the ground floor is typically the old somewhat Irani style(managed by kashmiris I suppose) and the interiors and hygene may not be acceptable by all - hence I personally recommend it to only those who 1 eat beef 2 have a stomach for such food 3 both the above and absolute foodies 4 those who are not fussy about the environment.(cleanliness etc.)

A must for anybody falling in all the above cateogories and very enjoyable after a couple of drinks.especially in the rains and winter. The joint remains open till very late nights- another advantage. So the season is just right .go ahead and enjoy.
