A different world

I’ve been a patron of this theatre for a long time, around 2 years. There is one thing that sets apart satyam cineplex from the rest, quality. Quality is not restricted to audio or picture, its about everything. Cleanliness of the place. Maintenance of the toilets and car park. Efficiency and friendly attitude of staff.

Mostly I take box or I class tickets. Some theatres, such as studio-5 dont have box. The seats in box and the first one or two rows of I-class are actually sofas, meant to accomodate 2 people. I’ve always felt at home sitting on these sofas. Very very comfortable. You can also request the row and seat numbers you want. If its not yet alloted, you are given the seat. I remember requesting a wall corner seat below a speaker for the ’’Shock’’ movie, just to get some extra thrill.

The crowd that frequents the cineplex is a elite and decent crowd. Right of admission is restricted by the theatre. You can peacefully enjoy the movie without bothering about anything.

I have never had any problems with the cineplex, except for one instance when I felt that my chocolate truffle cake had gone bad, which was promptly replaced.

Even if you are taking the late night show, there’s ample crowd. Its a safe place. You come out of the theatre at 1.00 PM in the night, and you have autos ready. You also have police protection.

I like hollywood movies, and they screen literally every new hollywood movie out there. The exception was ’’The day after tomorrow’’. It was screened in Devi. I badly wanted to watch it in satyam.

The only minus is that food is costly inside, and outside food is strictly not allowed. If you are seen carrying a big bag or something, the security guys promptly have it examined. My favorite, Cadbury Bytes, costs rs. 10 there, same as outside, so I really dont bother.

As for the tickets, the cost in the range Rs 50 to Rs 90, depending on class. Car parking is Rs 20.

The road gets jammed half an hour before each show, so make it to the theatre well ahead of time. Recently they have put a movable median on the road and deployed traffic cops to ease the traffic.
