A Sari and Blazing Eyes

Satta is a movie that must be viewed. Raveena Tandon is truly great in her role as Anuradha Sehgal. This is a film that revolves around politics and strange bedfellows. Raveena Tandon plays the part of Anuradha, a professional woman who marries Vivek Chauhan, a politician. She believes that her prince charming has arrived, and discovers very early in the relationship that she is just an accouterment. Her husband believes that he has married a woman who will fulfill traditional obligations, and ask for nothing in return. She makes him painfully aware that she will not accept humiliation, mistreatment, or disrespect. She exercises her rights as a human being when she refuses to ignore the rules of a household replete with disregard for women, honesty, and virtue. Anuradha through fate(her husband commits a crime), takes over the political dynasty that was once controlled by the Chauhan family. When she assumes power, she fills the screen with the vision of what occurs when an individual controls not only their destiny, but the destiny of others. The movie is long 155 minutes, and so I advise a rental, and in my case a purchase of the DVD. Some scenes if eliminated would have made this a perfect cinematic experience. Raveena Tandon transforms, and when she does her interactions and reactions are what makes this an incredible movie. All she needed was a Sari, blazing eyes, and of course the talent of a true Thespian.
