[DISCLAIMER: I’m not talking about the various artists CD, but the show SNL]
well now... as a irrefutable fan of SNL I have to say I’ve become very disappointed in the shows progression if it isn’t a rerun, the majority of the skits are drawn out until their just not funny anymore... it can only be explained in the counter-phrase all filler no killer. I watch the episodes from the good old days when Mike Myers, Phil Hartman (RIP), Chris Farley (RIP), and the rest of the successful cast was still around. Admittedly I love most of the new cast, however I prefered the antics of Molly Shannon and Cheri Oteri... and now that they’re gone Will Ferrell, Chris Khattan, and Tim Meadows must feel like dejected geezers. I don’t know what big L.M. is thinking these days, but they really need to keep up... the inconsistency of episodes is driving me crazy! The only reason I watch it anymore is one the hope that there will be some redeeming quality buried in their somewhere and two its totally out of habit... I’ve been watching it since I was 6 or 7 for God’s sake! I weep for what SNL has become, and I fear what the future may bring...
