It was easter weekend, sunday morning, having wasted two holidays already, I decided to watch Titanic 3D. Having loved the original one released in 1997, I thought it will be great to watch it. After reading few reviews, I made my mind and SMSed few friends. We were 4, including me, who got ready for the movie. What followed was search for movie theaters. We landed on BookMyShow and started the search for theaters in Delhi/NCR running the show. Most didnt had the suitable timings, and out of theaters screening it, our favorites, the Odeon(CP) and Wave(Noida) were almost houseful. We started looking for second rung theaters and ended up selecting Satyam Cinemas(Janak Puri), not a good selection as you will know in few moments.
So the show timings were 3:30 PM. Having pre-booked the seats, we tried target of 3:20 PM and we reached there at 3:25 PM, after passing through dusty area of neighborhood. There was a separate window for Internet booking but the guy on the other side seems to be out of Govt Bank. There were only two people waiting before us in queue and it took him 10 mins to give the "pre-booked" tickets. At 3:40 or so we got our tickets, after burning our bodies in sun for 15 mins. There were three doors to theaters & there was no security on any. When we entered the first, we were told to enter from other one. When we entered from other, a security guard came running to do security check. Woah! What a service(or lack of it)!
We entered the AUDI1, the auditorium which was screening the movie. Having wasted 15 mins of movie already, we rushed through the entrance where another surprise for waiting for us. Being a 3D movie, we needed 3D glasses. Just as we entered the auditorium, a couple came to security guard saying the 3D glasses were blurred and asked for replacement. Security guard replied, Sorry sir we dont have any 3D glasses left. We were yet to get 3D glasses. When asked, the guard asked us to wait 5 mins. When after 5 mins, he didnt have any clue, I asked for manager, he asked me to go downstairs. Once downstairs, I asked for Manager once again & I was told the Manager was outside. I somehow managed to reach him. He was the worst manager I have ever seen. When I told him about the problem, he told me he cant do anything, but refund the amount. YES N00B, I came 20 Kms to get a refund. Managers name was Nikhil.
Anyways, I came back in and asked for some other guy. I was redirected to some Mr Gandhi. He acted wisely and called some guy & went with me to the audi, called up some guy again & somehow managed to get 3D glasses. I took glasses for us & went to my seat. There were few more people waiting as the glasses bought by the guy werent enough.
It was already 5-10 mins past 4:00 and we have missed many good parts of movie. Glad the movie was good so I could calm down a little.
If you want to avoid such problems, give a miss to Satyam Cinemas anyday. I should have guessed it the moment I could find available seats in theater. Tells a lot about quality, and Satyam Cinema certainly lacks it.
