Saurav Ganguly, the PRINCE OF CALCUTTA has not only proven that he is a great batsman but also a man of great courage and grit.HE has what it takes and as a captain of the Indian team, he has taken his team to great heights just because of that winning and never-say-die-attitude.He comes across as a passionate and emotiinal cricketer who values the importance of being the leader of his team.
Ganguly has been a splendid stroke player and its always a treat to watch him bat, he has a great record and has won many matches for India single handedly. He is a useful bowler too though sometimes proves to be expensive but where he fails is as a feilder. He can improve upon that aspect. As a captain I think he is the best we ever had, he backs his player so well, encourages them and at the same time fires them if they dont perform well which is good.He is the type of man who will do anything to see his team win, which is the kind of attitude which many didnt have in the Indian team.
Saurav was not in a very good form in the Natwest series as a batsman but he played well in the finals and gave a good and solid platform to the team by scoring fast, so I think he was also a contributer to India win in the finals. His captaincy was good througout the series and it was because of him we got to see young players like Kaif, Yuvraj, Nehra, Agarkar and Zaheer in the series performing so well.He encourages them to the core which is commendable.Three cheers to Saurav.
After the memorable win in the Finals at Lords we sure have a chance in the World cup, what needs to worked upon is our bowling.Kaif and Yuvraj have proved to be the find of the series, their temperaments and attitude was admirable.I wish Saurav and his team best of luck for their forthcoming matches .Just keep the good work going guys.
