Cut out for the Job

Not a leader naturally but the trade has taught the man many a tricks. From Prince to Pauper and from Pauper right up to the King , he has seen it all , been written off by his critics, deserted by his fans , he has held on admirably well weathered it all and more importantly prevailed against all the odds. Yes, he is our Captain Perfect , Saurav “The SAVIOUR” Ganguly .

Today Saurav Ganguly is to Indian Cricket what “Cain Was to Abel”. Though the long awaited overseas success still eludes our Skipper but at least it looks as if one can believe that our team is capable of achieving it now. The results of both the team performance and his captaincy have been adorable. Had it not been for his bold , innovative and dynamic moves like opting Bhajee in place of Kumble in the WI, Playing Three Seamers , asking Rahul Dravid to keep wickets , Sachin at No.4, to name a few have given Indian team what it lacked i.e Depth in both departments, flexibility and of course the much needed dependability . Believe me you won’t find any other Indian Captain who has been as competent as him . Though it might be a bit early to say so but I believe he will prove my statement. I’ll stick to it.

Hold on just a little bit, we know none of us were created perfect , likewise I too feel Saurav Ganguly could move on towards perfection if he could get his at times impatient and over aggressive instincts under check and even curb his outspoken nature. I feel the man should also distance himself from on field and off field controversies which are bound to pursue him.Seems a bit casual about his running between the wickets as well . At times I also feel he is a bit over cautious especially when approaching that 100 of his or should I say selfish. Well I think he has to be given the benefit of the doubt on that .After all holding one of the top jobs in the country is not always a cake walk.So let’s give the man a bit of a break .

To sum it all up, he might be stubborn at times but not to mention adorable as well , edgy at times but class personified the next second .The “ROYAL BENGAL TIGER” has tasted the blood of success and now will crave for more. All in all, the CAPTAIN who has been cut out for the Job, the only man who could restore the glory of Indian cricket and bring back home what rightly belongs here .Yes, you guessed it right THE World Cup. Amen
