Saurav Ganguly may be the best (??) and most successful (!!) captain of the Indian team. But right now he is going through a lean patch. In fact, this lean patch has been haunting him and the fans of the Indian cricket team for quite some time.
The last time that he scored a century was in Australia in December 2003. After that it has been a run of poor scores. The Pakistan series has been the pits and if one watches his dismissals in the last and recently concluded test at Bangalore which Pakistan won comprehensively, then there will not be much of a difference between that and a comic act by Johnny Lever.
Saurav Ganguly the captain of the Indian team, friends, is at the moment, a great liability to the team. In my opinion he should be dropped from the team now. Ask him to play some domestic matches. Before that he should be just dropped like a hot potato.
Also I am interested in seeing how he is going to fare as a captain once John Wright returns to New Zealand after the one day series against Pakistan.
Selectors, please drop Saurav Ganguly till the time he returns to form. In his place, get in Kaif or Yuvraj. On current form they are far better than the Indian Captain.
On current form, I do not recommend Saurav Ganguly.
