We Indians just do not have the killer instinct, they say. And when an Indian displays that much wanted Killer Instinct he is treated shabbily by the press and everyone alike.
By golly, give us a break man.....I mean give the devil its due. I have not seen an Indian cricket team so galvanised and so cohesive as this one and the credit for all this goes to one and only SAURAV GANGULY. He along with the coach and the physio has transformed the team from a bunch of moody winners to a team capable of winning consistently and that too anywhere.
Gone are the days when the only success stories or our Indian team could be heard only when they were playing in their own backyard. Get real guys this is a team with renewed vigour and renewed spirit.
Which other captain had the guts to revolt against the selectors for backing younger players. which other player had the generosity to share his man of the match award with a fellow player because he thought he deserved it just as much. No one, just no one. And to think of it that he is a wonderful one day batsman and a more than a useful bowler. What more can we ask for?
Okay, so we all make mistakes and so does he but then we are all human. Which other Indian skipper had the audacity to match an Australian word by word, slog by slog and the English shirt by shirt.
He is ill mannered and tempered and rude and makes horrendous mistakes(remember he did not let Tendulkar open), but he is our best skipper around and a fantastic one at that.
