We want Sourav Ganguly back as he is a victim of BCCI politics
More than 10, 000 runs with the average of 40.65 , 22 centuries and 60 half centuries in oneday international and 5221 runs with the average of 40.78 , 12 centuries and 25 half centuries in test cricket, captained India for almost five years and proved himself to be the most successful captain.
Despite of such a great record, Saurav Ganguly has been dropped from Indian team. All the previous records were sacrificed just because his present form was not up to the mark.Coach Greg Chappell instead of helping him to find his lost form, he asked him to drop down.
When he took over the captaincy after the match-fixing exposes in 2000, he quickly proved to be a tough, intuitive and uncompromising leader. Under his stewardship India started winning Test matches away, and put together a splendid streak that took them all the way to the World Cup final in 2003. Later that year, in Australia, an unexpected and incandescent hundred at Brisbane set the tone for the series - Steve Waughs last - where India fought the worlds best team to a standstill. Victory in Pakistan turned him into a cult figure but instead of being a springboard for greater things, it was the peak of a slippery slope.
India had won the test series outside subcontinent after 16 years in Zimbabwe under Gangulys captaincy.Despite this nobody had thought that Ganguly will not only loose captaincy but also dropped in the next series.
Ganguly was selected only in four tests, two tests against Sri Lanka out of which in one just about one day play can take place because of rain and two tests aginst Pakistan.Despite of his fair performance in these tests he was not selected in the squad for the next matches.
I give all my wishes to Saurav and may we see him soon in the Indian squad and may his MISSION WORLD CUP be successful.
