Sarauv has been a captain for the Great Indian Team for more than 3-4 yrs. Because of him, our team has done wonders in the matches after the world cup played at England’s. He has given chances to many cricketers who would not have been noticed thanks to our selection commitee.. For eg.. Parthiv Patel.. though he was not as such a good cricketer, but he was given chances to be a wicket keeper and batsman.. He got along well with almost everyone in the team. No wonder he is called the Dada.He used to protect his team from unwanted issues. Only weakness was his over aggressivness and ego. Even in the last world cup, he didnot easily give up the opener post. But in the end for the team he had to and he did give him his opener place.
2004-2005 was not a good yr for the indian team. Saurav despite being aggressive and dedicated captain, and despite winning overseas matches still not perform well as a batsman. I always admire Sarauv Dada for his attitude which lacked in few cricketers of our team but at the same time, I didnot appreciate his high egoism. He was dropped from the team due to lack of performance. He was given a chance to perform in the test. Though, he didnot perform well in the first test match against Sri Lanka, he did stay on in the 2nd match that too both the innings. He played well and stuck on there for two days.. It is not a joke. That too being stripped of your captaincy and then leaving your egos behind, playing well getting back to form , it all comes from ones mind and heart.
I feel really bad for him. Infact Iam shocked how did Rahul Dravind keep quite. Both joined the same time. Though the coach and captain donot have a hand in selecting but still he cannot keep quite.. he has also seen the performance. This is called cheap politics. Our indians will slowly begin to hate the present captain, Mr Rahul Dravid.
Beware BCCI & Indian Team. You have commited a grave mistake..Think once again!!!!
