We stayed for 2 days at the Savoy Ooty. Its not a very posh property but quite nice and very cosy. Its gives you a feeling of being in a English Villa rather than a hotel. Its quiet and great place to just relax. We had taken a suite and it was really noce with wooden floor and a walk in closet. The bathroom was also large. The support staff seems minimal and you see the same guys at room service as well as the restaurant. The hotel is bang in the middle of ooty and therefore shopping is a breeze. The hotel also provides DVD which you can watch to pass time.
The only negative is the food. We had ordered room service and the time taken was quite less. However what we got for a burger with french fries and cole slaw was really terrible. The bread was so dry it crumbled. The cole slaw was a teaspoon max. Hardly 7 -8 french fries. Even the burger hardly had any filling except for lettuce, two tomato slices and the patty. Even the cold coffee was so so. For dinner, we ordered kali mirch kabaab which hardly had any kali mirch. The fried rice was good.
Other than the food, no complaints. The staff are nice and the hotel feels warm. There are better eating joints around.
