I had seen the SAW II DVD Cover with ‘Oh Yes there will be blood!” written on it. I reluctantly rented SAW hoping it to be some brain basher’s ball. But I was quite surprised, It was not as violent as I had presumed to be (I have clearly put – ‘as I had presumed it to be’). The movie was more of those ‘Track down the Super-intelligent Serial killer’ kinds but with notable difference.
There’s this Mr.Intelligent Killer guy, who steals people out of their normal lives, puts them in an arena and watches how gory and brutal they get to save themselves. ‘Mr. Jigsaw’ also has a moral, he tells people to be grateful that they are alive and stop sighing at their lives. He chooses his ‘gladiators’ from the lot of people that complain of how dreary their lives are. The mind games he plays with his captives and their ‘rush of adrenaline’ decisions are neatly captured on camera, though the suspense on who Mr.Jigsaw is – is a kind of clichéd one.
This movie has good elements of suspense and a good plot. I’ll probably watch SAW II next week.
Definitely watch this movie if ‘some bloodshed’ doesn’t bother you at all.
