GAME OVER!

What can I say? I never heard of this movie until a friend of mine happened to tell me about it and the cult status it had achieved at his workplace! The movie is categorized as a horror/ thriller - but this was probably one of the biggest mindphucks I had witnessed. I had managed to lay my hands on this movie and its sequel by patiently waiting for it to download and it was worth it!

The movie is a low budget one - what creates the spark in it is the story and the screenplay. The cast is relatively unknown with the exception of Danny Glover (Lethal Weapon) and Dina Meyer (hottie from Starship Troopers). The cast and crew have done an amazing job in bringing together an excellent thriller and converting it to a full fledged feature using a small budget.

The story starts of with two guys chained to pipes with a dead body lying between them. The movie is how these two try to piece together how they got here and why? Anything I say about this will give the movie away. Rather than take the smite of all you people who havent watched it yet - here is a list as to why this movie is special:

  1. Excellent story and screenplay

  2. Relatively unknown cast works to the effect of creating an environment where you wouldnt judge any of them in a previous movie.

  3. The movie is a thriller to the bone.

  4. Lot of gore and violence.

  5. Good camerawork and very innovative props.

I watched many thrillers (Seven, Memento, The Machinist, etc) but nothing quite compares to this. The only thing I can think is - here is a thriller where you didnt see that coming! Of course with the amount of content and violence in the movie it is rated ’R’. So I wouldnt recommend it to people who get easily upset with violence or horror and of course not to kids. If you think you can handle it - go for it!

ONE MOVIE YOU SHOULD ABSOLUTELY SEE! SAW THAT IS!
