Have been using this card for last 7 years. Ok with my card. I have intentionally kept my limit low so can use it freely for regular spending. Customer service is ok, though a bit slow. I have had multiple instances of dealing with them.
-Late payment fee-reversed multiple times
-Excess spend fee - had to pay it
-Card lost - replaced well in time
-Transactions disputed-have been reversed every time.
Card keeps getting replaced with new versions(chip card etc).They call and ask each time if I want my limit increased. No charges / fees so far
One thing I like is that thay are proactive- I once used my card online for downloading guitar tutorial. They immediately called me up saying that the transaction had accessed a site which was risky for card phishing and they cancelled and replaced my card free of charge.haven’t heard of any other card company doing that
Another instance is when I disputed a transaction after the eligibility date has passed. The customer service guy called me and when he came to know that I worked close to their gurgaon office, he suggested to write a letter and give it at the office directly instead of posting it. The transaction got reversed in 7 days.
The online usage is fairly easy and their VBV and OTP services is very fast.
The only con I feel is that their rewards program is not good. Each point is worth around 20paise or so and you get 1 point for every 100rs. So other cards offer much better value than SBI card. In addtion they carge a fee for redeeming points which I think is totally unjustified. Also the rewards catalogue is not updated and does not give much details about the product.
It will be better if they can tie up with online retailers for online redemption of points and also get more discounts.
I use it mainly because of low limits, no fee, no hassle, ok customer services
