Although one may think that SBI is running the SBI Card business in reality it is GE which controls the card operations. Quite understandably GE with its notorious reputation of cheating customers has recently started off doing the same with SBI Cards. Their billing will invariably include delayed payment interest as more oftenn than not they will intentionally clear the payment cheques from the drop-boxes kept at various SBI Branch locations much after the due dates and lodge them at their own sweet will. Consequent delay in realisation is charged to card holders in the subsequent bill. Their help-line is difficult to get. For them "Your call is Important to us, please hold on" is the standard IVRS response. More often than not the calls do not get through and even if they do the customer service personnel do not have any clue about the probles and give all sorts of stupid replies. Their website is totally inaccesible. SBI should immediately take up with GE and either pull out of the card business or kick out GE from the joint venture.
