For all my dear friends who think that SBI railway credit card is life time free, please take that from you head. I would give my miserable experience here. I was approached by SBI railway credit card people to take the card and told me that it is a life time fee card and tell me benefits of the card.
I have a very good credit history, never had default payments for all the credit cards I have with the elgibility of more than a 1 Lakh
Surprise 1
After receiving the card I was surprised to see giving me only 32, 000 as credit limit, where as the guy who sold the card told me it would be more than 1 lakh
Surprise 2 - The best surprise
During the first month of recieving the card I get a message on my mobile that Rs 561.change bill has been generated and was sent to you, I call back on the 1800 toll free and told that it was a free and cannot be charged, so the executive promply agreed to reverese the money back to my card. after two days I called them to know the benefits. I was surprised to listen that there is 61 rs I will have to pay, I asked the executive that money should have been waived
Now the real story starts: He tells me that sorry sir that reversal was done by SBI and not with the SBI railways card division, now that you have SBI railways card I would again reverse the amount and you will have to pay 561rs , then I asked why is that you give wrong information to customers and sell the card, he starts becoming rude and answers back it is a differen divison I am not bothered and concerned about, The argument goes on and I ask him tell me the process to deactivate the card, he immediately asks my maiden name and cancels the card without even taking instructions from me.
This is the time I get pizzed off and asked him to connect me to his superior(Gautham). he takes the call and tell him the entiry story. He says very shrudely, your card has been cancelled, if you want to process it again, put the request. After all this experience I have decided not have SBI railway card. End of the call I told him that your subordinate was arrogant and immediately Mr. Gautham says you dont have to worry I will take care and ends the call
Experience: Miserable
Interest Rate: 3.1% higher than other cards
Customer Service: Pathetic
Overal Experience: Pathetic
