I have a SBI IRTC card and I make all my payments online.
On 5-Apr-2012 I realized that I had paid an excess amount of around 50000 towards by credit card bill. I called up SBI customer care and who acknowledged the excess payment and advised me to provide bank details along with a scanned copy of my PAN Card which I did the same day. I was also intimated that the issue will be resolved within 5 working days. I call up on 10-April, and I am told that I have yet to submit my PAN card details, though I had received an email from SBI that they were in receipt of my details including the PAN Card. Convinced the executive responds that the transfer is in process and will take another 2 days. 3 days later I call and I am updated that it is still under process. I call again on 20-April and talk to the supervisor who assures me that the case has been put on high priority and will be resolved by 24-April. I call on 24-April and I am told that it will take another 5 days.
Meanwhile I write to the VP customer care DDhody, but no only an automated response, send an SMS to SBI, no response. Rs. 50000 is blocked by SBI for nearly 20 days with no resolution in sight, putting me under undue stress and financial duress. Do we call this Customer Care or Customer Torture Cell? I am at a loss on what to do next and whom to contact to get back my hard earned money.
Never expected a customer care to be so insensitive and slow as SBIs.
