I had a harrowing experience with the SBI card - I had first taken up the services about 5 years back while I was residing in a city at Tamil Nadu. As usual the marketting agent of the company literally forced me into the proposition of owning the card - ones I had the card at hand, the fellow disappears from the scene and any information on the card or its services when enquired about draws a blank. But the outsourcing agents keep pestering you with their enquiries regarding unsolicited loans and offers. I was paying for an insurance which comes as an add on with the card - the amount being drawn every month.
Finally when I shifted out of that city to a place in Kerala, I had informed the customer care people about my change of address - the same year I had to pay the annual fee for the card as well, but the information that I had send regarding my change of address never seems to have got registered - because I never received any of their statements eversince. I had repeatedly rang them up and told them about this issue. Now after almost two and half years I approached an office of the GE in town and when I enquired they told me that they had blocked the use of the card - and that I have to pay a balance of three hundred odd rupees to settle the issue. which I promptly did and washed my hands off these irresponsible delivery of services. I have learned never to trust these sort of companies.
I request others to be vary of these sort of issues when they go for the services of such irresponsible companies.
