I had a dirtiest experience with SBI Gold Credit Card. SBI offered me the credit limit of Rs. 125000.00. I used this credit card for hardly 3-4 months. During this span I faced lots of problems related to monthly statements.
First month I received the statement somewhere at 10th day and the due date was given 22nd day of that month. I paid more than 40% whatever was my spending. Next month I did not received any statement still I paid some more dues carry forwarded from previous month (Dropped the cheque in SBI branch). I paid that at 20th of that month.
Third month also I did not receive any statement. So I logged on to the website to find out some contact in this regards. I registered my self for online statements. I got the username and password. Using the same username password I logged in to SBI website. But online statement page was not accessible. I tried to access that page for long time but could not worked out. Meantime I received the statement for third month. Due date was 27th of the month (Due date in First month was 22nd). So I made the payment before the 27th of that month.
Forth month also, I did not received the statement and still the website statement page was inaccessible, so I sent an email to customer support in this regards. Then some person replied me, he gave me some URL to access the statement online. That URL was same whatever I was trying from the beginning. As per my previous statement, balance due amount was nearby Rs. 900.00. I was confused whether to pay the dues on 22nd or 27th of that month, because their date was not fixed as per my experience.
I was out of station for few days from 20th of that month. So I came back on 24th and made the payment to SBI on 25th. In the next month?s statement, they charged me late payment fees something Rs. 175.00. I immediately called up customer care to get these thing clarified, but couldn?t helped me saying due date was 23rd and you made the payment on 25th.
After that I had 3-4 emails to and fro in this regards, asking for the explanation why the dates are varying each months and why am I receiving the statements. Always they told me that your statement is getting posted each month, where they disappear DON?T KNOW.
Then I decided to close the SBI card service and wrote an email to deactivate my Credit card, I strictly mentioned in that email ?I will not tolerate any communication in this regards, please de activate my credit card?. Then some customer care executive called me and she confirmed that I really want to deactivate it or not. I said yes please terminate it.
Immediately they deactivated my card. But as per payments I made to SBI, Rs. 160.00 are extra at their end and the executive assured me that I will receive the refund cheque in couple of months. This has not happened till date after 6 months also.
