I have been approached by the Agents roaming around the SBI branches to apply for a Credit Card at the Guindy branch of SBI.
On a repeated requests by an agent I filled up the form and gave it to them for processing. The application was processed and card was sent to me. On to my surprise the credit limit given to me is just 10, 000/- whereas my credit limit on the other cards like Citi Bank etc was running into lakhs.
Ok, since the card has come, I used it in a shop and made a purchase of Rs. 6, 500/-. The statement has not been sent to me and after 40 days I got a sms saying that the outstanding amount has not been paid and that penal interest will be charged.
I would like to inform all my friends that don.t fill up the application being given by the agents in the bank and furthermore dont apply for SBI credit card which will tarnish your image.
