Review: Scary Movie 3 is the latest of the Scary Movie franchise. The first two movies have been directed by Wayans brothers, and were good ( I was told ). The studio gave the SC3 reins to a veteran comedy director David Zucker whose spoofs Airplane!, Top Secret! were brilliant. But this movie is not so worth watching.
<p> SC3 is a spoof of The Ring, Signs, 8 Mile and a bit of The Matrix reloaded. The theoratical trailer builds up very high expectations, but the only good jokes in the movie have already been shown in the trailer and the movie doesnt have anything more to offer.
<p> Story: SC3 starts with the story of a mysterious tape, which kills anyone who watches with within 7 days (parody of The Ring). Another like of the story, Tom Logan (Charlie Sheen) wakes up with his daughter screaming, and find out mysterious crop circles in his field (Parody, Signs). He wonders what the aliens are trying to tell us (He will be standing in middle on a crop circle sign saying ’’Attack Here’’. Despite being a good joke, there no connection to the story with this sign. Now, a reporter Cindy Campbell (Anna Harris) must find out how the crop cirles and the mysterious video tape are linked and in the process finds out how her friend is killed. She also pays a visit to oppheous who tells her she is ’’The One’’ and has to jelp the president save from alien invation. Simox Rex plays as Tom Logans brother, who dreams of becoming a rap star. He ridicules Eminem, playing his part in 8 Mile. The movie is a collection of one-note jokes which do not add up to the story, but purely point and laugh. They are not good jokes either, the director often falls back on bath room and excrement humor ( Stepping in Dog poop etc). Denise richard also plays a small role as Tom Logans wife who gets killed in an accident and her last wish is that her husband have no more sex which Shreen pretends as if he didnt hear and tries to be funny but is not. Charlie Sheen role is totally wasted in this movie and is boringly written.
Some Bad Jokes 1) Cindy crawfords son gets rundown by her car twice in the movie and he bounces like a rubber ball which is no humor at all.
2)Cindy crawford accidentally puts her knee in Dog poop ( E http://www.. )
3) Simon Rox, playing the role of Eminem in 8 mile, while getting ready for a battle, pukes on a guy in the rest room.
4) After Reginal hill dies, Simon Rox trying to bring her back, breaks(?) her body.
5) A dialogue between Sheen, and Simon rox..
Simon: ’’ I have a Dream.’’
sheen: ’’ What Dream?’’
Simon: ’’ To have a dream’’ (?????????????????????)
6) A Christian priest abusing Cindy Campbell’s Son.
7) The whole scene where Denise Richard is dying.
There are some good jokes too and you dont have to watch the movie for them. It’s all in the trailer.
