Some people may think that this type of movie doesn’t really have a plot; however, Scary Movie 2’s plot is quite decent and it throws in the occasional jab at homosexuals, African Americans, and the disabled. This shouldn’t stop these people from seeing this movie because it’s all in good fun and nothing harmful was meant.
The plot is quite simple in Scary Movie 2 as the entire movie is based upon the movie, ’’The Haunting.’’ A professor (Tim Curry) at school is holding an insomnia experiment at the local haunted house. The group of friends arrive at the house and are greeted by the caretaker, Hanson (Chris Elliot), who has an utterly human face, yellow teeth, and a little disfigured hand that he likes to cook with, touch people’s faces, and other things of that sort. This immediately freaks everyone out and the whole crew is afraid to be around him. After meeting the butler, Cindy and Shorty have their own encounters with the dirty-mouthed parrot. Each person attempts to talk with the bird, but it keeps replying with the dirtiest things and yells out more curses than Happy Gilmore when he can’t make a 2 foot putt. During the night, each character involves him or herself in their own little adventure. Cindy is attacked by the black housecat and then embarks on a journey to a hidden room with Buddy. Shorty is attacked by a huge marijuana plant and then smoked by the 6 foot tree. Ray has sexual intercourse with a possessed clown. Brenda constantly complains that black people never survive these movies. Alex also gets some action with the invisible man (Hollow Man).
Without telling the rest of the story and blowing the ending for everyone out there who has yet to see it, all I can say is you’ll be surprised at how good this movie really is.
