Aha Seinfeld .....You beauty

This happens to be my first review. I couldn’t help but

ensure that if at all I did contemplate on writing one it had to be Seinfeld’s.

Seinfeld as the makers say is a show about nothing, The humor is phenomenally

diverse for any sitcom series I have ever seen so far from Seinfeld’s dry witty

sarcasm, George’s self condescending remarks to Kramer’s patent slap stick. The

humor will however take some time getting used to, but once you get it, I swear

you will be hooked; much like the millions of Seinfeld fans.

The lead characters in the series are namely

Jerry Seinfeld: Played by Jerry himself works as a stand up

comedian in the sitcom, He is really witty and is obsessed about cleanliness.

Extremely cocky and unassuming, he is for some reason shy of serious relationships

and ends up dating numerous weird women right through the series(serves as source

of umpteen laughs). Jerry also has this weird fascination towards Superman and

is shown admiring, comparing, defending and supporting his superhero all along.(Almost as

a bench mark for everything under the sun)

George Costanza: My favorite character in the series played

by Jason Alexander, George is the loser of the group. He is highly insecure

about everything in his life. Is always on the look out of girls but gets

rejected or dumped with alarming regularity. He is short, fat, ugly, bald,

short tempered and to top it penniless. In the show George quite often lies and

takes up fake identities(presumably cause of his lack of self confidence). He

usually takes the name Art vandelay and likes to pretend that he is an

architect. Funnily George usually self deprecates and considers himself as the

lord of the idiots(in his own words)

George gets along very well with child hood friend Jerry and

invariably depends on him to bring a bit of sanity in his life. One such advice

was to do exactly opposite to what his instincts say(Shown in the episode:The

opposite) which yielded him with unexpected benefits, getting himself a job

with New York Yankees, a new girl friend and also finally moving out of his

parents house

Elaine Benes: Elaine is shown as an intelligent and smart

person in the group who happens to work as an editor. She is mostly shown to be

a balanced person who however has abrupt fits of rage. Elaine dates Jerry initially

and is shown to be well over him but secretly harbors feelings for jerry which

is shown in the last episode(The finale) where she is shown ostensibly

confessing her love to Seinfeld when they think they are all about to die in

the plane crash and ends up blurting I love

Cosmo Kramer: Kramer played by Michael Richards, happens to

be the weird neighbor of Jerry .Kramer is shown to be weird, whacky crazy

however he is shown to have sudden spurts of intellect and wisdom. Kramer

brings his trademark slap stick humor in Seinfeld which is shown in almost all

his episodes in the way he enters Jerry’s apartment, the way he dresses, the

way he talks(Hey….Jerrrrry(Kramer fans you get what iam saying?), his weird

hairstyle…All of these adds up to make Kramer as the funniest character ever

created. Kramer’s eccentricities is best epitomized in one of the episodes

where he tries sleeping 20 minutes every three hours( Impressed by Leo Da

Vinci), and then accidentally sleeps off while making out with his girl friend

who thinks that he his dead and dumps him into the Hudson river:D:D

Apart from the above there are other characters like Newman,

George’s parent, Susan(George’s fiancée) who make regular appearances

Finally if you do get hold of the series make sure you watch

these must see episodes

1) The Soup Nazi

2) The Marine biologist(hilarious to the core)

3) The Fuseli Jerry

4) The Contest etc

5) The Opposite

6) The Friars Club n many more

That’s it for now, Hope this helped J
